Capital Radio Malawi is a private owned commercial based radio station that was launched back in 29th March 1999 by the veteran journalist who is Alaudin Osman. Capital Radio Malawi has been voted as The Electronic Media House of the Year for three consecutive years starting from 2004, 2005 and 2006 by the Malawi National Media Institute of Southern Africa.
