In the 1980s, a group of young people of the Canton of Amancey Doubs had the idea to create a local radio station, following the opening of the airwaves in 1981. The main concept is the animation of rural areas. The first broadcast was on April 5, 1986. The radio, having fulfilled its primary objectives now covers a wider area in Franche-Comté. The office is located in the village of Déservillers near Besançon. Currently, the Villages FM broadcast area covers much of the Haut-Doubs to the border of Switzerland (107.4) for the general Besançon (99.8) and the Valley of the Loue and the city Ornans (105.1).
