News Radio KLBJ Information

On July fifteenth 1973, the banner was brought down on the call letters, KTBC, and raised with the new letters, KLBJ. This was maybe, one of the couple of times that the vicinity of the President of the United States, Lyndon Baines Johnson, was felt by the radio station’s staff – or its group of onlookers.

In 1981 KLBJ actualized the “News-Talk” form, which is still being used today.

Throughout the years numerous renowned names have worked at KLBJ including Nellie Connally, Harfield Weeden (who later got to be VP of CBS programming), Pat Adelman, J.C. “Jesse” Kellam, John Connally, Bonner McLane, Jake Pickle, Bill Moyers, and obviously Cactus Pryor.
